China police arrested web activist Huang Qi in his Chengdu home, seizing his computers and other electronic devices that he allegedly used to sow dissent among marginalized citizens.
Qi operates the 64tianwang.com, a human rights monitoring website that takes up the cause of citizens who are allegedly being harassed by police for bringing up their complaints.

He served a 5-year prison term from 2003 for subversion after materials critical of the government were found posted on his website.
The arresting officers from Chengdu and Beijing searched Huang's home and took away five computers, two mobile phones and other equipment, his mother said.
Police said Qi faces another jail term if found guilty. He will be questioned on suspicion of "causing a disturbance."
Qi said his arrest is part of the government's ongoing crackdown on dissent and that the offense was purportedly being used to prosecute activists and petitioners.
Qi's arrest came on the heels of a recent arrest of three people who were found to have written subversive articles on Huang's website. The three people were detained for questioning.
They have also been accused of "causing a disturbance."
Huang's website has become the voice of people whose complaints have not been attended to by the government such as labor disputes and illegal home demolitions.
