Hong Kong actor Lai Lok Yi and his fiancée Nicole Lee are said to be living a simple lifestyle in order to prepare for a luxurious wedding this coming November.

According to media reports, the couple had been spotted last October 2 on a movie date near Kowloon Bay. Before that, they were seen shopping for hotdogs, ate their dinner at an inexpensive establishment and later went to see a movie.

Speculations say that Lai and Lee were spending less on their meals in order to save up for their upcoming wedding this following month.

According to earlier media reports, Lai promised to give his fiancée a lavish and memorable wedding , planning to hold their wedding at a destination in Bali, Indonesia which will then be followed by a grand banquet in Hong Kong Parkview.

Furthermore, Lai is said to have given Lee a four-carat diamond ring. He also had to spend $100,000 HKD in order to arrange for an underwater wedding photo shoot.

On the other hand, Lai's relationship with Lee, which began in 2012, is said to have been met with heavy criticism and scrutiny because of their differences in financial background.

Lee's family is known for owning a cosmetic corporation which is speculated to be worth $500 million HKD. Though Lai also had an ample source of finances, being an actor, their differences when it comes to their economic status is said to still have a huge gap. This later caused the media to dub Lai as the '$500 million Prince Consort'.

It has also been rumored that Lee's parents disapproved of her association with Lai and that the actor had been in a lot of pressure trying to please her parents as he was still a struggling actor back when they started dating, only later gaining popularity with his sitcom 'Come Home Love'.

Despite these claims, Lee stood firm that her parents were not unhappy about her relationship with Lai, saying that the actor is financially independent. Additionally, Lee said that her family and Lai have gotten very close.
