After months of hearing about rumors saying that there might be a follow up to the hit chick flick "Mean Girls", it seems Lindsay Lohan has gotten her co-stars on board to make a new one.

The "Speed-the-Plow" actress spoke just last month about her ideas for a "Mean Girls" sequel when she met up with Tina Fey. She said she had been hounding the "30 Rock" star to write another "Mean Girls" movie, but that has not happened so far.

Fey even went so far as to shut down rumors about Mean Girls ever having a sequel when she said, "If everyone's around, we might try to do some kind of like panel discussion. But it's not like -- it's not another movie," last March.

But it seems fetch is going to happen this time.

Lohan apparently convinced co-star, Amanda Seyfried, who played Karen Smith in the movie, to get Fey to write them a sequel.

This happened after Lohan and the rest of the "Mean Girls" cast reunited and spent the day joking around.

"They all got on so well that they have managed to get Tina to write them a proper sequel," an insider said.

Should there be a follow up to the iconic flick, it would mean a big comeback to the silver screen for the troubled actress.

Lohan has not had a great project since going off the rails in 2007, followed by years of bad luck, including DUI arrests, rehab stints and just recently, a miscarriage.

While there have been efforts on her part, Lohan could not get a big project, ever since making a name for herself as unreliable and difficult to work with.

Currently, Lohan is starring in "Speed-the-Plow," a West End play. She is currently trying to make a comeback and said the she "would love to do a British movie when I'm finished on the stage."
