Glastonbury Tickets Sell Out in Record Time Amid Rumors of Fleetwood Mac, Queen Performances

Glastonbury festival tickets were sold out in record time of less than 30 minutes on Sunday, The Guardian reports.
All 135,000 tickets were gone 25 minutes after they started going on sale at 9 am, according to NME. Meanwhile, 15,000 coach and admission packages for the event were sold in just 14 minutes during a presale on Wednesday.

The record-setting sales happen amid rumors of legendary bands Fleetwood Mac, Queen and AC/DC headlining the festival in 2015. The complete lineup, as well as headliners, has not been confirmed yet.
"We're humbled by the incredible numbers of people who would like to come to the Festival - and it's clear that demand once again outstripped supply this year," a statement on Glastonbury's website reads.
"We're sorry that some of you have missed out, but there will be a resale of returned tickets in the spring (and your registration remains valid for future years). Thank you all for your never-ending support for our Festival," the message continues.
Moments before tickets went on sale, some took to Twitter to predict how difficult securing a ticket would be.
"I've got more chances of becoming a singer and performing at Glastonbury than actually getting tickets," one aspirant wrote.
When the tickets were finally sold out, successful and unsuccessful fans alike tweeted about their feelings.
"First Glastonbury failure. This is not how I envisaged my Sunday," one said. "After looking like a scene from hackers, we just got #Glasto2015 tickets," said another.
Emily Eavis, a co-organizer and the daughter of the festival's founder Michael Eavis, said on Twitter: "We have sold out, thank you to everyone for supporting us and I'm sorry to those of you who have missed out."
Glastonbury was founded by Eavis in 1970 as Pilton Pop, Blues and Folk Festival. It has featured top acts over the years and through different musical eras but has kept parts of its original ethos inspired by the hippie culture and counterculture movements.
