French Montana's ex-wife Nadeen Kharpouch has finally filed for a divorce and reports suggest that the rapper is really relieved and happy about it.

The divorce papers have been filed last Monday and sources say that French and his wife took two years before they finalized the papers as they could not come into common terms regarding the custody over their four-year-old son.

Kharpouch has cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the legal documents filed at a New Jersey courthouse.

Insiders reported that both Kharpouch and French Montana were in good spirits and that the latter already settled for more than US$2 million that his ex-wife has demanded from him.

However, rumors have emerged that French Montana has abandoned his son just so he could hang out with girlfriends such as Trina and Khloe Kardashian.

Friends of Kharpouch said in an interview that French once went seven months without seeing their son and spent just four days with his child this year. The sources added that Khloe was much more important to French that he prioritized her over taking his son to school.

French was also in RapFix Live, a show in MTV, and was quoted saying that the divorce happens to be the best. He also slammed rumors that he abandoned his family noting that as long as he can take care of his family and make sure that his son is good, he has nothing to worry about and that he could finally have a good night's sleep.

He noted that he got a little bit busy with his business, in reference to making music and his tours, and added that his family and his business are taken separately and does not want to mix them at all. He added that might probably be the reason why people don't get to see photos of him with his son. Privacy was something he feels keeps him sane.
