While Robert Downey, Jr. and his wife, producer Susan Downey, are very busy right now about the upcoming premier of their first ever Team Downey project, "The Judge," word has been spreading that the highest-paid actor is open to return to the silver screen as Iron Man.
But RDJ has a catch -- he said he would be really open to it if Mel Gibson would be the one to direct it.

"Why not? That movie would be bananas," the actor said in an interview.
RDJ perhaps feels for Gibson because he and the actor-film director share a familiar experience with the dark side.
"He hasn't changed so much," Downey said of Gibson. "Nobody should make a case for somebody who just wants forgiveness but hasn't changed, but he's fundamentally a different guy."
Gibson has struggled with alcoholism for years, as did Downey with drugs before he put on the Iron Man suit.
RDJ and Gibson have both had their share of jail time.
Their struggles have been well documented by the media.
In December 2000, Downey's stepmother, Rosemary said that the actor had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, thus making it difficult for him staying sober. Gibson then found out two years later that he apparently had manic depression.
In October 2011 when Downey was honored at the 25th American Cinematheque Awards, he chose Gibson to be the one to present him with the award for his life's work. It was on that occasion when Downey said Gibson had helped him a lot during his hardships and told the audience to "forgive him [Gibson] of his trespasses" and give him a chance to start anew, the same way he was given a chance to prove himself again.
Downey regained his fame after starring in Iron Man. Perhaps it would be Gibson's big comeback to Hollywood, if it does come true that Marvel would offer Gibson the chance to direct the fourth movie for the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist in the suit of armor otherwise known as Iron Man.
