Xiaomi Mi4 vs. Moto X 2014 (Gen 2): Comparison of Specs, Features and Price

The second generation Moto X was recently launched, while Xiaomi Mi4 was released in August.
Both smartphones offer a set of good features and specs that justify their prices.

Hardware, software, and storage
Xiaomi Mi4: It runs Android v4.4.3 KitKat OS with MIUI 6 UI and has an impressive 3 GB of RAM. It features 16 GB and 64 GB internal storage.
Moto X 2014: It runs Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS and users have an option to upgrade to Android L (5.0). It offers 16 GB and 32 GB of in-built storage capacities while it has a 2 GB of RAM.
Both mobile devices are powered by quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and do not contain a card slot for a microSD.
Display, exterior design and size
Xiaomi Mi4: It features a 5-inch Sharp/JDI OGS full lamination display with a screen resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels and 441 ppi for its pixel densities.
It's similar to the iPhone design with a stainless steel band surrounding the sides of the device. Its metal band gives an impressive premium look.
It weighs 149 grams, which is heavier than the Moto X 2014 and is 0.35-inch thick.
Moto X 2014: Sporting a 5.2-inch Amoled display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution. It has 424 ppi pixel densities.
It features an aluminum frame, giving it a sleeker look. The back panels of the handset can be customized through Motorola Moto Maker site.
The handset weighs 144 grams and is 0.39-inch thick.
Camera and battery
Xiaomi Mi4: Its primary camera has 13 megapixel with dual-LED flash while the front camera is 8 megapixel. It has a killer Li-Ion 3080 mAh battery.
Moto X 2014: It also sports a 13 megapixel with dual-LED flash primary camera and has a 2 megapixel snapper in the front. Its Li-Ion battery is only 2300 mAh, however.
Price
Xiaomi Mi4: The Chinese-made device can be purchased at US$429.99.
Moto X 2014: The selling price of the handset is US$500.
