The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed on Tuesday that over 400 people have died since mid-September because of the fighting for the Syrian city of Kobani.

According to the Syrian monitor group, their documentation showed the deaths of 219 Islamic State militants, 163 Kurdish militia group members and 20 civilians in Kobani.

On Tuesday, the city was bombarded by several large explosions.

The attacks were focused on the militant group targets that were surrounding Kobani, which the militant group have been trying to take over to expand their domain.

Following the airstrikes that hit several groups of ISIS fighters, one local anti-ISIS fighter said that the attacks were finally "hitting the right places."

If the city wouldl fall into the hands of the militants, they would be in control of a 62-mile swathe of land, from its self-declared capital of Raqqa, all the way to Syria and Turkey.

Meanwhile, the United States and its allied countries have organized a group to launch air strikes against ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria.

However, according to a senior U.S. military officer, launching air strikes in the city of Kobani has been a challenge for military forces, because the position of the Islamic State militants were near the Turkish border or close to Kurdish forces.

On Tuesday, Danial Qassim, head of the Tal Afar hospital, said a hospital in northern Iraq has admitted more than 29 suspected militant members who were injured during the U.S.-led coalition air strikes.

Tal-Afar is located about 43 miles of Iraq's second biggest city, Mosul, which is under the control of the militant group.

To date, U.S. military air strikes against the extremist group in Iraq and Syria have cost the U.S. over US$62 million, according to a U.S. Defense Department data.
