Even as Adrian Peterson said he would plead not guilty to child abuse charges, he faced more accusations Tuesday while also lashing out on social media against the media.
The embattled former Minnesota Vikings NFL MVP running back came under more scrutiny, if that's even possible, following a report in local media Monday that his charity had misused money donated to it.

Reports said some of the donations went to a drunken sex party at a hotel room. An underage woman at the party later accused Peterson of rape, but no charges were filed.
Known as a "good guy," Peterson started the season as one of the NFL's elite players. His arrest on suspicion of beating his child quickly sent his career to the toilet. The Vikings suspended and NFL banned him indefinitely on Sept. 17. He continues to draw an $11.75 million salary, but has been barred from participating in any team functions pending disposition of the case.
Due at a Montgomery County, Texas state district court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing, Peterson will plead not guilty to causing negligent injury to a child, said a spokesman for his attorney, famed Texas lawyer Rusty Hardin.
Peterson is accused of using a small tree branch, called a switch, to discipline his 5-year-old boy when he was visiting his suburban Houston home earlier this year. His boy was taken to a local physician with visible markings from the spanking.
This was reported to authorities who pressed charges. Peterson said his intentions had been good as he applied discipline the same way his father did to him.
The statement issued through Hardin's office said he never intended to injure his child and would say the same thing at court.
On Twitter, though, Peterson answered his critics, sort of, with a vague commentary on his situation.
Peterson tweeted: "it's SAD how people these days will believe anything reported by media sources that don't take the time to be GREAT!!!"
He added: "Just in-general!"
