BBC has just launched their newest show called BBC Music and they have hired internationally-known singers who would revive the song "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys back in 1996.

The stars that completed the collaborated version have been accompanied by the writer of the song, Brian Wilson. The younger singers who were in the list are Chris Martin, One Direction, Lorde, Kylie Minogue, and Sam Smith.

The legendary singers who made it big in the music world who also participated in BBC's project are Sir Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Jake Bugg, Emeli Sande, Paloma Faith, Florence Welch, Chrissie Hynde, Brian Maye, Alison Balsom, Martin James Bartlett, Danielle de Niese, Nicola Benedetti, Eliza Carthy, Baaba Maal, Jamie Cullum and Jaz Dhami.

Rocker Dave Grohl was also part of the collaboration and he gave a guitar solo for a few second to add color to the varying sound of the song. Overall, there were 27 artists who made the project successful.

Also in the multi-themed video were BBC's very own Zane Lowe, Katie Derham, Gareth Malone, Lauren Laverne and Jools Holland.

BBC Music is said to be an ambitious wave of new programs by the company and they have boasted that they have teamed up with innovative partners making it the strongest commitment of the network towards music.

The video was shot at the Alexandra Palace theatre in London and overall, critics say it was very lavish. Also in the video are the Tees Valley Youth Choir and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

The collaboration was released on Tuesday and will be available for downloading. All proceeds are reportedly to go to the foundation founded by the network named BBC Children In Need Charity.

This is not the first time that BBC has asked artists to make a collaboration of a song as they have also invited singers back in 1997 to make a cover of the song "Perfect Day".
