Frenchman Gilles Simon came back from a set down to upset Fourth seeded Stan Wawrinka at the Shanghai Rolex Masters in China on Wednesday.
The Australian Open champion was in form in the first set as he grabbed an opportunity for a break late in the set to win it at 7-5 but the 29-year-old Frenchman came back to break the Swiss late in the second set to even up the match.

In the third and deciding set, the Frenchman got another chance to break Wawrinka at 4-all and managed to deliver then served out for the match 5-7 7-5 6-4.
Simon is set to face Tunisian qualifier Malek Jaziri who defeated China's Chuhan Wang in straight sets 6-0 6-4.
Wild card entry Wang upset 15th seeded Fabio Fognini in the first round, a startling difference in seeds since the Italian is ranked 17th in the world while Wang is No. 545.
Wawrinka's early loss is not surprising since he also lost in last week's Japan Open in the very first round against Japanese wild card Tatsuma Ito in straight sets.
After Wawrinka's quarterfinals appearance at the U.S. Open, he withdrew from the Moselle Open in France citing fatigue before coming back to action in Tokyo.
Wawrinka, 29, is currently fourth in the eight-man short list of contenders for the year-ending ATP World Tour Finals where Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are already qualified.
He just needs to make a finals appearance in any of the remaining ATP events in order to clinch the fourth spot but unfortunately, he has done quite the opposite.
Kei Nishikori of Japan is hot on his tail, 540 points behind and with just a finals appearance in the tournament, Nishikori will surpass Wawrinka and will be the very first Asian player to make it at the prestigious season-ending event in London this coming November.
