(Photo : Reuters ) Yaho has been attacked by hackers but claim that no data about users have been affected.
Yahoo initially reported that three of their computer servers were hacked earlier this week. The company is now saying that people's data have been untouched and are safe. Earlier reports said that hackers exploited the Shellshock security hole, but a new Yahoo statement says it had nothing to do with the attack.

Shellshock is said to be a security vulnerability service and has been used since the 80s. The Shellshock bug is used by people so as to actually get into a system via the use of a code. If and when a hacker is successful in using the code, the hacker can gain full access to anyone's system.
Shellshock has been posing as a serious threat for years now.
Yahoo has retracted their original report regarding Shellshock. The chief information security officer for Yahoo, Alex Stamos, released the statement saying, "After investigating the situation, it turns out that the servers were in fact not affected by Shellshock."
Yahoo reported that they initially thought it was Shellshock, after a blog post by Future South Technologies, a technology consulting firm. In the blog, it was stated that hackers from Romania used the bug to get into Yahoo servers.
Also in the post, Jonathan Hall, a security researcher for Future South, warned Yahoo users about their data being in danger. He added that the attack was due to Yahoo not being able to keep up with the growing demands of technology.
According to the company, the security threat has already been stopped and it won't happen again
