Despite claims that Hong Kong actress Kenix Kwok is putting too much pressure on her 4-year-old daughter when it comes to her studies, the actress refuted them saying that she believes in democracy and joy in learning.
Kwok is being labeled as a 'Tiger Mom' after news that she was forcing her 4-year-old daughter Tania Lam to attend two educational institutes and extracurricular activities on top of that. The actress has stepped forward to deny the claims.

In earlier reports, it is stated that Kwok, in order to maximize Tania's learning potential, has enrolled her daughter in two kindergarten classes in different schools. Tania is said to be attending Christ Church Kindergarten in the morning and St. Catherine's International Kindergarten in the afternoon.
Additionally, the actress is said to be spending around HK$100,000 annually on co-curricular activities she made her daughter join after classes, as she believed that involving Tania in more classes can help her know what her interests are in the future.
Tania is said to be attending six extra-curricular classes including piano and English. The 4-year-old is said to have already passed her Grade 1 piano exams.
Insider reports also say that since Kwok has a very strong personality, she decides on almost everything, including her daughter's education.
However, in a message that Kwok posted on her Sina Weibo page, she said, "Don't worry. I won't force Tania to do something she doesn't like. Attending two kindergarten classes is not to pave her path for the future, but to see which one is more suitable for her," adding that Tania just happened to like both schools.
The actress then defended her parenting style, saying that people shouldn't just look at what they can see about it and claim that she is a tough mother. "We emphasize democracy, joy in learning, and most importantly the healthy and happy development of a child," the actress wrote.
