UFC number one contender for the featherweight title Chad Mendes says that he has gotten into the head of champion Jose Aldo.
At a recent media event where both fighters were set to promote their upcoming fight on Oct. 25, Aldo shoved Mendes during their face-off.
While Aldo said that he had shoved the challenger just to hype the fight, Mendes' opinion is that it is a load of bull.

Instead, he thinks that Aldo losing his cool and having his temper flare up like that is very uncharacteristic and it has never happened before. The fact that he is coming out and saying that it was just to promote the fight sounds like backpedaling to Mendes.
"If that was the case, if you were trying to sell the fight, you wouldn't come out and say that afterwards," Mendes said. "That was him backpedaling for sure."
Aldo and Mendes have fought previously.
It could be argued that Mendes was winning the whole fight, using his stand up to get Aldo to the ground.
For the whole first round, Mendes had Aldo on the ground and maintained control. However, in the dying seconds of the first, Aldo got back to his feet, with Mendes holding his waist from behind.
In seconds, Aldo got free of Mendes' grip, turned around and timed a knee just as Mendes was going down for the takedown again.
Since then, Mendes has been on a five fight win-streak to get the rematch.
Mendes has also been playing mental games with Aldo, making comments about the champ on social media and even going so far as to call him out as a performance enhancing drugs user.
On UFC 179, the two featherweight fighters will battle once again for the belt.
