Taiwanese singer-actress Rainie Yang revealed that she has finally moved out into a separate home from that of her mother and was faced with the predicament of not knowing how to cook. Because of her lack of skills in the kitchen, the singer, who is now 30 years old, says that she plans to go on a cooking date with her mother to learn how to cook.

"To tell the truth, I don't even know how to cook rice," says the actress, adding that though she was adept in cleaning and general housework, she was clueless in the kitchen.
Yang stated that she never had enough opportunities to cook personally while she was growing up and only knew how to prepare tomogoyaki, a Japanese omelet, which she learned how to cook while watching a classmate do it. Up until now, it's the only dish she knew how to make.
The singer-actress revealed that when she began living independently, she discovered that she experienced getting so hungry that she would eat most anything, including left-over food from the Mid-Autumn festival last September.
Additionally, she shared that she had resorted to ordering food from a delivery service since moving out, adding that her diet became less healthy with the limited options.
Yang says she will learn how to cook for herself during the cooking date she has planned with her mother.
When asked if she is also learning how to cook in order to impress a man, Yang said that she is simply learning how to cook in order to avoid getting hungry.
She says that she thinks that it would make more sense if she and her future partner would focus on making a living in order to have the means to hire a chef or dine out at a good restaurant.
