Marvel and Sony May Be Meeting Up in Secret Regarding Spider-Man Rights

If you have seen the post-credits scene of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," you probably noticed that Hydra has kept captive two peculiar people -- siblings Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

While many were excited about this crossover with the "X-men," many wondered why they were called 'miracles' instead of mutants. To explain it briefly, it is so because Marvel does not hold the rights to "X-men" because it belongs to Fox. Marvel had to create some sort of new storyline in order to include these gifted beings into the existing Marvel Cinematic Universe story arch.

But alas, despite being deprived of the X-men in the MCU, Marvel fans all over the world can rejoice because of the big possibility that Spider-Man will join the Avengers in a future Civil War story line.

According to Drew McWeeny of HitFix, who is a reliable source when it comes to things like this, Sony and Marvel have apparently been negotiating a deal in secret in order for Marvel to regain the rights to Spider-Man.

In his article, McWeeny said that he had been hearing about plans that "would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the onscreen Marvel movie universe that would blow the fandom's minds."

McWeeny clearly states, however, that he has not gotten a clear word to confirm all of this, or if the plans are in effect. He also added that he has also heard that Marvel is doing what it can in order to be able to "play with all of their characters."

Marvel and Sony have yet to release an official statement about the speculations.
