Apple Health Isn't Perfect But Has Promising Results In The Future

Apple's HealthKit

(Photo : Photo Distributed by Apple) Apple's HealthKit has already been installed in the iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus.

Apple has announced the HealthKit back in June and it has been anticipated as the next big thing with regard to fitness and health tracking.

It is not yet close to being a perfect and fully-functioning project but critics say that it would offer promising results in the near future.

The Health app is already available in iOS 8, but details about how it works have not been elaborated. A webpage has been set up by the Apple team to let the users know more about it.

The app is said to be connected to third-party apps like MyFitnessPal, Carrot, Jawbone and WebMD. These apps allow the exchange of data and track steps, sleep, and other things that anyone wants to monitor.

Reviews however have noted that the app was an "embarrassment" as not all people know how to use it.

On the other hand, the app not being advertised as much as other Apple products have raised speculations that it might be launched better together with the Apple Watch. The app was installed ahead of time so as to have the right timing once the Apple Watch arrives by next year.

Tim Bajarin, an analyst from Creative Strategies who closely follow the company, believe otherwise saying that the health app might be launched formally this month together with the newest line of iPads and iMacs.

Another reason brought up by Skip Snow, senior analyst for healthcare at Forrester Research, is the privacy concerns being dealt with by Apple. The recent massive hacking of the nude photos of the A-list celebrities have caused quite a stir letting Apple be more cautious about their future projects.
