Video game developer Electronic Arts has started offering the Windows version of "Dragon Age: Origins," a fantasy role-playing game which normally costs $20, for free as part of its on-the-house promotion.
In addition, logging into Bioware's site using the Origin credentials will give the member a plethora of bonus downloadable content at no added cost.

The latest giveaway will end on Oct. 14. The offer is supposed to set up the sequel of the free game "Dragon Age: Inquisition," which is set to hit retailers on Nov. 18, according to CNET's Rick Broida. If a gamer gets addicted to "Dragon Age: Origins," there is a much higher chance that the player will buy its successor.
The free video game is a high-caliber adventure RPG with spell-casting and hack-and-slash gameplay. Gaming news site GameSpot wrote a positive review for the game, even awarding it with a 9.5 out of 10.
"Incredible storytelling, great characters, and exciting battles are just a few of the things that make this fantasy role-playing game so extraordinary," Kevin VanOrd, the critic of the game, wrote on the site.
In recent months, the promotion has brought "Battlefield 3," "Bejeweled 3," "Dead Space," "Peggle," "Plants vs. Zombies" and "Wing Commander 3" to gamers who have set up or signed into an Origin account at no additional cost. Once an Origin member has acquired the game, it is theirs to download, play and keep forever.
Previously, EA gave away copies of "The Sims 2 Ultimate collection" on July 16 as the company announced that it would no longer support the game. To receive the game, Origin users only had to put "ILOVETHESIMS" into the client's "Redeem product code" option. The offer ended on July 31, 15 days after the game was offered for free.
