A new TV series is about to happen on CBS and they are naming it Supergirl. The network just made its confirmation saying they are very much dedicated on airing this new series. They haven't mentioned about the plot and its conceptualization but jumped off to releasing a statement about its airing at once. This just shows how confident they are that it is indeed happening.

The people who will work behind this new TV series have already made names from their other works, like writers Ali Adler along with Greg Berlanti who both wrote for the hit TV shows Chuck and No Ordinary Family. Berlanti Productions who also worked on some recent shows such as The Flash and Arrow will handle Supergirl under the supervision of executive producer Sarah Schecter.
The plot is about this girl Kara Zor-El having the same gift and weakness as her cousin Superman. When the planet Krypton was demolished, Kara had evaded the place and the other chaos that went there and eventually made a landing on earth. When she turned 24, she chose to be like her cousin Superman who flies around with a cape living like a vigilante.
This is not the first time this concept was turned into a motion picture. In 1984, a movie was released with Faye Dunaway as Supergirl. Although it wasn't shown on TV, the material still made an impression to viewers and now making it as a TV series is definitely not a bad idea.
CBS already made it clear that it is them who will franchise the show in the US, but in the UK it is still unknown where it will be aired. And as for who is going to play this new superhero to hit the small screen, the network has not yet released a statement about it.
