Microsoft released a new photo-sharing app dubbed Xim that should make photo sharing easier.
Microsoft Research's FUSE Labs developed the app that allows users to share photos from their handsets that are synchronized among multiple devices.
The company's goal with Xim is "to change the way people share in the moment," said Microsoft Software Engineer Steve Ickman.

Xim works even the app isn't installed on other devices. It doesn't require all users or participants to actually have the app itself to share and view photos.
"Only one person needs Xim for all to participate. Pick the source, the images, and the people - other participants don't even need to have the app installed," Microsoft said in a statement.
Photos stored in cloud storage including OneDrive, Dropbox and social networking accounts can be shared with other persons via text message or mail.
This app comes in handy because anyone using Xim can select up to 50 photos and turn them into a slideshow.
People viewing the slideshow can advance it, or pan or zoom in the photos. Other participants will see the interaction in real-time.
Xim is available for Windows Phone, Android and will soon be launched for iOS devices. Users can now download the app from the Windows Phone Store and Google Play store.
