Michael Keaton: Not a Superhero Fan

Former Batman actor Michael Keaton says he is not a fan of superhero films despite stepping into the role of Bruce Wayne in the 80s.

Keaton, who played the role of Batman in Tim Burton's two films in the late 80s and early 90s, says that playing the role did not develop his passion to be a superhero fan.

In an interview, Keaton praised Chris Nolan, who is the director of 'The Dark Knight' franchise, but says that he hasn't watched any of the Batman movies he has made.

"I know they're good," says Keaton. "I just have zero interest in those kinds of movies."

The actor revealed that he has been constantly asked whether Ben Affleck, who will be starring as the new Batman, will be any good for the role. The actor merely wondered why people were asking him that question.

The 63-year old actor says that Affleck would probably be good for the role.

Keaton also talked about the suit, saying that it had been a difficult experience getting into them. "Once you get into those suits, they really know what to do with you," he says, adding that it was harder then compared to how it is now.

On the other hand, Keaton played the role of a CEO to the company, OnmiCorp, that developed RoboCop in the most recent film that was made after the cyborg cop played by Joel Kinnaman.

Kinnaman is said to have sweated profusely while wearing the suit. Though Keaton admired his co-star, he had no sympathy to offer the actor, saying that he is claustrophobic.

"Inside, honestly, I started literally having panic attacks. So I thought, 'I don't know how I'm going to do this, man. I'm feeling really, really scared,'" he says, saying that it was a different thing when he was Batman as they had to 'glue' the costume onto him back then.
