In bringing her concert tour to one of the most populous countries in the world, Carey's "The Elusive Chanteuse Show" would reportedly help bolster the sales and promotion of her 14th studio album, which was launched in May.
Adding to the excitement brought about by the tour, this 10-day event also marks the first time the world renowned singing sensation visited the Chinese Mainland. According to sources, the only time Carey visited the country was during her 2003 concert held in Shanghai. Hence, fans of the breath-taking diva are definitely excited to have her visiting their hometowns.
"I have been listening to her songs and I found out two months ago that she would hold concerts in China. I came from another city just for her concert," stated one of the thousands of Carey's fans.
"I am a local Beijinger but I don't usually go to concerts. But when I heard that Mariah Carey was going to hold concerts in China, I had to come. She is a superstar who I followed when I was young. I grew up with her songs. I am so happy I can see her in person today. I am very happy," another fan claimed.
This ten-day event in China is the eighth concert tour of Carey, as well as her first comeback to the concert scene since 2006. Records show that the diva's Friday concert at Beijing Worker's Stadium was attended by roughly 38,000 fans from Beijing.
Carey's Beijing concert will be followed by tours in Shanghai, Chongqing, Chengdu, and Tianjin.
