Current undefeated professional boxer and reigning champion of five weight classes - Floyd Mayweather Jr., is pivoting his attention towards mixed martial arts (MMA) with plans to promote events of his own.
In a recent interview with online news site Fighthype, Mayweather recently spoke out about his view on how professional MMA fighters are being treated today.

He commented on Oscar De La Hoya, calling him a snake. He addressed any fighter in a boxing ring, and warned them to be wary of De La Hoya, calling him a snake.
"If you want to be treated fair, come over to Mayweather Promotions," Mayweather said.
He went on to talk about how their belief really lies in treating their boxers and MMA fighters fairly.
"I want a lot of MMA fighters to get in touch with you because Mayweather Promotions, I look forward to putting on my first MMA show also and having me some MMA champions."
Mayweather is beginning to show the true versatility of his promotion with his out-of-the-box and open-minded thinking.
Sounding as if it were only a matter of time, he said that when he gets in to the MMA game, he wants the fighters to make more money than they are already making because he hears they aren't being treated fair.
The issue is real though, with fighters from around the globe complaining about their salaries.
Small MMA organizations, such as World Series of Fighting (WSOF) supply as much as US $20,000-30,000 to fighters in the main event.
The fighters from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), while still fighting in the biggest stage of MMA, are still complaining of insufficient fighter pay. The fighters ask why the executives make millions off of the card revenues.
While some organizations like WSOF have started to remedy the situation by offering their fighters a cut of the pay-per-view sales, Mayweather has also been on the move.
He recently received his boxing promoter's license in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is now capable of holding events there, and has made it clear that he will get into MMA.
