Before winding up his German state visit, XI reiterated the need to further expand cooperation in the on-going economic transformation and maintain sustainable urban development in the NRW.
The Chinese president invited the NRW to take an active role in the continuing development of the modern-day Silk Road economic belt by highlight the strategic role of the Port of Duisburg where a direct train line is connected all the way to Chongqing, the western-most industrial production city of China.
On the part of Kraft, she stressed that the NRW continues to enjoy the fruit of the close economic relations with China. She cited the fact that over 800 Chinese owned businesses are already in the NRW while 1,000 German business groups are investing in China.
Premiere Kraft added that the NRW looks forward to strengthening cultural exchanges, logistics, trade and transport interests of both countries as the NRW takes the lead role in further boosting China-Germany bilateral relations.
Xi welcomed the 2015 scheduled exhibition of Chinese contemporary art at the museums of the Ruhr Metropolis and said, "I'm confident that the cooperation between the NRW and China will generate more fruitful results"
