While troubled actress Amanda Bynes awaits a competency hearing, she is being held involuntarily at the Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California. The said hearing in scheduled for this week.
Although Bynes has been displaying bizarre behavior once again these past several days, Attorney Wendy Patrick told CNN that there is still a possibility that the court will not pursue holding the actress past the required 72 hours as written in section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code.

"They can't just make up evidence. It has to be true and observable. The hearing is not just a rubber stamp," Patrick stated.
As stated in the law, the 72-hour hold may exclude Saturdays, Sundays and holidays if the State Department of Social Services certifies for each facility that evaluation and treatment services cannot reasonably be made available on those days."
The 28-year old actress was admitted to the hospital last Friday, following her return to Los Angeles from New York.
Before she arrived at the facility, Bynes tweeted, insisting that she was not insane. However, the actress flooded her Twitter with posts that stated that she needed "a tremendous amount of facial surgery" and that her father as well as another person had sexually abused her.
The odd tweets were later on removed and the actress recanted her posts, tweeting, "My dad never did any of those things. The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he's the one that ordered them to microchip me."
Her latest tweet before being admitted was directed at Britney Spears' former manager, Sam Lufti. "You feel like a brother to me, Sam Lutfi. I mean it. Thank you luuuuv," Bynes posted.
TMZ reported that Lufti had persuaded the actress to return to Los Angeles on the guise that he was going to help her sue her family. The moment Bynes landed, a car brought her from the airport to the hospital.
