Following the release of an article that Hong Kong actress Samantha Ko has gained popularity due to her connection with TVB major shareholder Charles Chan, a Hong Kong tabloid also pointed out that Kate Tsui had a past relationship with him, influencing her rise to fame.

According to earlier reports, Tsui has been linked with Chan three years ago which influenced her popularity in Hong Kong under TVB's management.

However, a Hong Kong tabloid released an article regarding the matter, stating that since the TVB boss has now diverted his attention to Samantha Ko, Tsui doesn't have much room to stand on in her career.

In response to this, the 'Tomorrow is Another Day' star maintained her cool and jokingly said, "I never had a status at TVB, so how can I be threatened?"

Tsui additionally stated that she is only a contracted artist under the company which does not make her any different from any other actor or actress working under TVB.

The 35-year old actress also refuted the claims that she had any connection with Chan, stating that she, along with other TVB artists, rarely get to see Chan. She said that if she did, it was only during company functions such as the company's anniversary.

Regarding the rumors that stated that she has dated the TVB boss in the past, the actress merely laughed at it, saying that she might probably be the target of tabloids in Hong Kong after starring in the recent drama 'Tomorrow is Another Day' which is also making headlines.

The actress stated that she is a naturally easy-going person and that she does not have any intention to dwell on the rumors that people are making about her.

On the other hand, Samantha Ko has also denied the rumors that were circulating about her and Chan. The previous reports say that her designer clothes and luxury car were all provided by the TVB boss which she insistently denied.

Appalled by the rumors, the actress stated that she was able to obtain her status in the entertainment industry through her own hard work and not because she had connections with Chan, also promising to take legal action against the tabloid that published the story.
