FX's animated series "Archer" will be dropping the acronym ISIS (International Secret Intelligence Service) as the name of the spy agency featured in the show in season six. In an effort to remove any association from the terrorist group ISIS, the series will only be showing a visual representation of the agency and will no longer use the acronym.

According to executive producer Matt Thompson, "We won't say ISIS anymore, and the only visual representation of it will be that sign rolling off the show. It's just the most awful thing, and we didn't want to have anything to do with it."
The removal of the acronym will find its way into the show's storyline. Co-executive producer Casey Willis shared that the terrorist group doesn't exist in the world of "Archer", so they will be dropping the acronym instead because the agency will be working with the CIA and will be under the said agency's banner.
Willis shared, however, that they can't completely disregard the existence of the terrorist group as the reason why they are dropping the acronym. He shared that the issue will be addressed in the first episode of season six "in a very smart and subtle way".
Adam Reed, the creator of the show, shared that he met with the network executives and joked that they should just sell the extra ISIS merchandise to the bad guys. The joke was met with dead silence and a comment that the extra merchandise will just have to go "to a landfill somewhere".
The sixth season of the animated series will begin in early 2015. The main character, Archer, voiced by H. Jon Benjamin will be taking on a new role as dad to Lana's baby daughter. "He's doing a really poor job," Benjamin shares of his animated character.
