China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has finally made its decision to ban any kind of media that features celebrities who have been involved in drug and sex crimes, effective September 29 and directly affecting films that stars Taiwanese actor Kai Ko.

Following Ko's arrest and detention in Beijing for marijuana use last August, SARFT has dropped their decision, stating that his upcoming movies, including 'A Choo' which also features Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin and was originally due for release on October 4, will be banned from Chinese media.
Ko's other movies, 'Tiny Times 4.0' and 'Monster Hunt', which were supposedly going to be promoted for the 2015 Lunar New Year films, also had their release dates postponed.
The cast of 'Monster Hunt' was supposed to have a press conference to promote the film this month, however, the event was also cancelled at the last minute due to SARFT's decision. Sources say that the production team of the film has not yet notified them of a later release date.
In response to the decision of the administration to ban the films that features Ko, his manager stated that they feel regretful over the whole matter. Ko's management company stated that they realize the gravity of the mistake that the 23-year old actor has done, also expressing their hope that he would be given the chance to correct whatever wrongdoings he has done in the past.
On the other hand, Jaycee Chan, who was also arrested for marijuana use and possession along with Ko, will also be facing the same consequences. 'A Monk in a Floating World', his film which was scheduled for release in theatres in December, will also be pulled out from cinemas.
Despite not having too much screen time in the film, there is still a possibility that it will be shown in China as long as they cut his scenes out.
