The former child star is currently on a 5150 hold at the Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California.
A 5150 hold enables mentally ill people classified as a threat to themselves and those around them to be taken in against their own will, it was the same hold Britney Spears was put under after her very public meltdown in 2008.
According to the Las Encinas website the hospital is "An acute psychiatric facility that is situated on a 27 tranquil acres campus consisting of sprawling lawns, shade trees, plants and lush gardens. Highly structured and comprehensive programs provide the very best in mental health care.".
The hospital is also said to be one of the best and sources say that the hospital staff hopes that they will be able to help bring Amanda's issues in the spotlight and make her realize she needs help.
The intervention came after she had a meltdown in New York City and when she tweeted accusations of being abused by her father, Amanda has since deleted the tweets but then stated that she was microchipped.
Her parents were spotted at the hospital on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, Caleb Pusey, the man Amanda said she is engaged to denied claims stating that he has not seen nor heard from Amanda in months. Amanda previously announced the false engagement on twitter --- the announcement included a "people magazine cover."
It is unknown if the 5150 hold will be extended but here's to hoping Amanda is on her way to recovery.
