Insider reports say that despite the fact that her role in 'Come Home Love' was popular among viewers, the production crew had to write her off in order to add a twist to the story. The 33-year old actress is said to be reluctant to wait for another breakthrough role and instead focused on opening a restaurant which would generate more income for her.
With only several years left in her contract with TVB, Chu allegedly said that she is afraid that she may have to go through a long-term loss of work is she continued to stay with the company which is going through a staff reduction.
An insider source says that Chu more or less knew what would happen after the drama is over and with the staff reduction going on. The source claims that the actress is worried of pay cuts and since she is already in her 30s, she has decided to divert her attention into a new business.
Furthermore, the source says that Pang is planning to open a restaurant and was willing to give some shares to the actress, who is currently busy overseeing renovations, stocks and hiring staff.
Chu is said to be supervising the business when it opens. Additionally, the actress is said to have taken over the operations and management of the finances at the other restaurant that Pang owns.
