Rain and Crystal Liu Team up in “Beauty’s Dew”

Korean pop icon Rain will co-star with mainland China's equally popular star, Crystal Liu, in his first Chinese movie starring role in "Beauty's Dew."

Beauty's Dew is a Gao Xisi adaptation of one of the novels written by Zhang Xiaohan, to be shot in Shanghai this month and scheduled for release in time for the celebration of China's Single's Day on November 11.

A completely different role from his previous movies, Rain will play the role of Xu Chengxu, an heir to a big corporation who disguised himself as a poor man in order to pursue his passion for art.

Crystal plays Xing Lu, who belongs to a fallen noble family and is the love interest of Xu Chengxu in this romantic movie.

Rain's acting career flourished when he won as Best New Actor in the KBS Awards for his dramatic role in the 2003 film Sang Doo! Let's Go To School.

This was followed by another KBS award for his dramatic role in the 2004 film Full House.

Rain also won the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival his role in I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK in 2006.

Rain has also appeared in Hollywood movies, Speed Racer in 2008 and Ninja Assassin in 2009 where he became the first Korean to win an MTV Award.

Crystal Liu, on the other hand, is a Chinese actress, model and singer but holds a US citizenship. Following her training at the Beijing Film Academy, Crystal she was swarmed by TV series offers.

Her first TV appearance was in The Story of a Noble Family, followed by Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, an adaptation of a novel by Louis Cha where she played the role of Wang Yuyan.

Crystal starred in 2005 as Zhao Ling'er in Chinese Paladin, an adaptation of The Legend of Sword and Fairy.

She starred again the following year in a television series, The Return of the Condor Heroes, adapted from the novel of Louis Cha with the same title.

In The Forbidden Kingdom in 2008, she co-starred with Jet Li and Jackie Chan as Golden Sparrow, an orphan who  seeks revenge against the assassins  of her parents. And in 2010, she starred with Leehom Wang in Love in Disguise.

She has also appeared in "I am Still Waiting For You," a music video of the 2006 Can't Stop Me album of Jimmy Lin.

Crystal has co-starred with Jimmy Lin in Demi-Gods and Semi-devils and The Love Winner.

She also has a recording contract with Sony Music Entertainment Japan and has released her first single, "Mayonaka no Door" with the  Sony Music in 2006,  which was used as the ending theme of the  magical girl anime Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z.

The new love team of the equally talented young stars is expected to draw a large audience both from China and Korea.
