Instagram has already warned their users on Twitter saying that they were experiencing service issues at 11:05 a.m. ET, but the complaints only started to surface at around 4:45 p.m.
Here are some of the tweets showing how people reacted for not being able to access the number one photo-sharing site:
@BlueJacketsNHL tweeted: "Instagram is down NO ONE EAT ANYTHING THAT'S PRETTY OR DELICIOUS"
@Shrimptooth shared: "Instagram is down. Just threw out my pumpkin spice latte, tossed my kale salad and ripped off my UGG boots cause what's the f***ing point?"
Instagram then tweeted saying that they were aware of the site being down and were already working on it. They even thanked their users for being "patient" although it was evident that many were not.
The issue was finally solved at 5:10 p.m. ET. Instagram has not fully disclosed that the problem was in their system.
