Business partners and best friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are set to develop a futuristic spy thriller for Syfy.

Syfy made the announcement on Monday.

Pearl Street Films, the production company owned by the Academy Award-winning duo, along with Syfy and CBS Television Studios will be creating "Incorporated", which will revolve around a male protagonist who aims to beat a corrupt system ran by corporations with "unlimited power".

Affleck and Damon, along with Pearl Street Films president Jennifer Todd, will serve as the executive producers of the new series.

Ted Humphrey, famed for his work on the CBS hit series "The Good Wife" will also be joining the team as showrunner and executive producer.

Pearl Street Film's Margaret Chernin, on the other hand, will serve as associate producer of the thriller.

Brothers David and Alex Pastor of "Selfless" and "The Last Days" fame will be writing the pilot of the series.

No announcements have been made regarding who are being eyed for the lead and other members of the cast.

"Incorporated" will be Pearl Street Film's first scripted cable TV project.

As for Syfy, the new series comes as the NBC Universal-owned network aims to focus more on science fiction projects similar to that of "Battlestar Galactica. Included in the networks new roster are dramas such as Dominion, 12 Monkeys, Ascension, Olympus, Z Nation, The Expanse and Hunters

Syfy's existing series Defiance, Haven and Helix will be returning.

Affleck is currently starring in the number one movie in the United States, "Gone Girl" which has so far earned $78.3 million over the last two weeks.

Affleck and Damon have been friends since Affleck was eight and Damon was ten. The two lived in Boston, their homes only two blocks away from each other. Their mothers, who were both working in education, introduced them and ever since then, the two have remained the best of friends.
