A recent report released by the national tumor registration center shows that a daily average of 8,550 people are diagnosed with cancer, with as much as 6 per minute.

Types of cancer are geographically dispersed, the report further indicates. Provinces in central and north China, such as Henan and Hebei, are high-risk areas of esophagus cancer. Northwest and the eastern costal regions are mainly vulnerable to gastric cancer, while liver cancer poses threat mostly to southeast and northeast provinces.
