Hackers posted videos and pictures of Snapchat users on forum website 4Chan on Sunday, following through with a threat announced Friday.
Some 13 gigabytes worth of videos and photos from a website called Snapsaved.com were posted in a discussion thread on 4Chan, said the UK publication, The Guardian. The number of the photos with explicit content showing underage users is unclear as of the moment.

There are speculations the hackers that uploaded the images online may have been the same culprits responsible for "The Fappening," a collection of nude celebrity pictures that included Jennifer Lawrence, Yvonne Strahovski and Ariana Grande via the 4Chan site.
By default, Snapchat erases videos and photos received and seen by a viewer. Some users, however, used an app called SnapSave and a now-shuttered website named Snapsaved to access messages outside Snapchat. The victim's use of SnapSave has come back and bitten them in the rear.
In a statement released Saturday on Facebook, the people responsible for creating Snapsaved said the site had been hacked.
On Friday, warnings were posted on 4Chan that the stolen photos were to be leaked soon. Around 13 GB worth of hacked Snapchat photos and videos were posted Sunday in an event dubbed "The Snappening."
There is a question of what the files actually revealed, however. The catalogue of pictures is said to have a huge numbers of child pornography photos, according to people who downloaded the images.
One Redditor (a nickname for users of the online forum, Reddit), however, said "'The Snappening' did not live up to its billing." While he said that about a hundred megabytes of nude photos and videos were present in the collection, the majority was "low resolution garbage."
