Florida State University (FSU) is currently investigating quarterback Jameis Winston over the signing of autographs in exchange for money.
An autograph distributor has obtained at least 300 authenticated signatures from Winston. This distributor is linked with Georgia running back Todd Gurley, who faced the same investigation and is currently suspended.

While a source told ESPN's Darren Rovell and Mark Schlaback that Winston did not sign items for money, a search of James Spence Authentication's (JSA) website revealed quite a number of certified autographs from Winston and Gurley.
The source says that Florida State is also investigating how the company received such a large amount of Winston's signatures.
Head coach Jimbo Fisher on the other hand is quite confident that Winston did not sign anything for money.
He commented that the kids sign items like these all the time.
"We could make them not have any fans from that standpoint and not sign for anybody," Fisher said. "That's what it's going to come to, and that's a shame for college football, that somebody exploits a kid."
Each of these authenticated items comes with a card that says, "It is our considered opinion that the items are genuine."
However, the contract signed by the JSA says that, "no warrantee or representation shall have no liability whatsoever to the customer for the opinion rendered."
These items have a serial number attached to the item that links back to the authenticator's website. Then, the owner of the signature or a perspective buyer can look it up.
Martin Buckley, co-owner of Palm Beach Autographs in Florida, says that the items of Gurley and Winston that he has seem look like they came from an autograph signing.
His statement is based on the similarity and quantity of the items, the consistency of signatures, and the usual spots they are on.
No action has been taken against Winston yet. He is expected to play their next game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
