Security has been beefed up by Beijing police in Huairou district where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Meeting will be held in November.
Beijing police has reinforced its forces in that part of the district where the surrounding rural mountain areas have fewer officers, in a move to aggressively ensure security of APEC leaders who will be attending the forum.

The dispatching of more officers to the district's Tanghekou police station for the enforcement of tight security and ensuring all areas are covered in their operations, was the result of a year's planning with the Beijing police bureau.
The four townships encompassing over 300 villages at the district's mountain areas are covered by more forces to block off security risks or any untoward incident that may occur during the event. Close coordination for the enforcement of the tight security measures is ensured so that all areas are covered in their operations.
Citing an example, Zhang Jicheng, a police officer at the district sub-bureau, said that four police officers including a deputy director from Liulimiao police station, will operate in Tanghekou while each township will provide at least five security guards to help out the police and patrol units in the area.
Traffic enforcers, firefighters and forest protection officers have also been included in the security planning and operations at the Tanghekou police station who also gave their input in handling emergency situations.
Zhang refused to divulge the number of officers actually involved in the security strategy but said the same strategy had worked well during the National Day holiday.
"To guarantee that APEC is safe enough, the new police team of the mountain areas worked hard in the annual two sessions in March and the past National Day holiday. It can work well," he said.
Zhang said they will deploy only male officers with average age range of 35 to secure the mountain areas because of the cold weather.in November.
The police station have likewise installed electronic cameras that can send images directly to the sub-bureau expeditiously so that any emergency situation can be handled quickly.
More than 1,400 police officers have been deployed a day in the Dongcheng district, patrolling busy streets and places since August and they have already established five areas of jurisdiction to secure.
Still part of the security are police dogs that will be used to patrol key sites and places of the APEC meeting.
China officials said, the elaborate security plan is at par with what they implemented at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
