In his post which was dated October 11, the 'Rush Hour' star shared his opinions regarding the ongoing political strife that has been happening in Hong Kong, citing that the economic losses in the area has reached HKD$350 million.
In his post, the Chan expressed that he feels anxious about the turn of events, particularly the effect of the demonstrations on the economy.
"I believe that all Hong Kong people love Hong Kong and wants it to do well!" says the 60-year old star, adding that what Hong Kong needs for a better future is the support and hard work of its citizens.
In his rather lengthy post, he said, "According to the lyrics of 'Nation', there cannot be a prosperous home without a powerful country," adding that he would be willing to work with the citizens, urging them to 'return to reason' and face a better future.
To end his post, he wrote, "Love our country and love our Hong Kong."
Reactions to the post that Chan has left on his page have been divided with some showing their support for what he has stated. News have been surfacing that there were already people who are rising against the demonstrations in Central.
However, despite that, there were those who have heavily criticized the actor for what he said in light of the drug bust that his son, Jaycee Chan, had been involved in just last August.
Netizens have commented that the actor should learn how to discipline his son first, saying that if he can't manage his own family, then he definitely will not be able to manage politics.
