With the Occupy Central protests still on-going and growing strong, rumors have began to circulate that a group of netizens are devising a plan to attack and boycott Hong Kong celebrities who would show their support for the pro-democracy movement.
Hong Kong media reports that this group of netizens believed to have been organiz\ed by the Chinese propaganda ministry is planning on a movement to bring into disrepute any celebrity who supports the demonstrations.

These stars will be branded as traitors. Said group of web users are also reportedly planning to discourage the public and the Chinese media from patronizing these artists' works.
Celebrities who have showed their support for the demonstrations include international star Chow Yun Fat, Hong Kong director Tony Leung, veteran actor Anthony Wong, actors Paul Wong and Chapman To, actresses Michelle Chen and Denise Ho.
In response to the rumors, Anthony Wong, who is currently in Shanghai, filming his latest drama, posted a message on Facebook which says, "If I have to betray my dignity for your bowl of rice, I am sorry, but that bowl costs too much," fearlessly attacking said group.
Wong stated that he doesn't have anything against Mainland China, but is merely supporting the One Nation, Two System scheme, adding that he is an artist with a conscience and not a beggar.
On the other hand, Chapman To did not give a clear response to the story, jokingly saying that such boycott scheme is new to him. The actor is a known critic of China and has outspokenly conveyed his opinions about the country in the past.
Denise Ho also responded, saying that she was not afraid of such plans against her. She stated that as long as she feels like doing what is right, she didn't care about threats.
