The People's Liberation Army is ready to take the military cooperation with the Dutch armed forces to a higher level, said Central Military Commission Xu Qilang.
For her part, Hennis-Plasschaert stressed that the armed forces of the Netherlands are ready and willing to extend and strengthen cooperation with the Chinese military in various areas.
The Dutch defense minister considered her visit to China as very impressive and productive, having been able to forge enhanced military cooperation with one of the world's superpowers.
Partnership of Cooperation
Last month, President Xi Jinping met Dutch King Willem-Alexander during the Chinese leader's visit to the Netherlands.
During their meeting President Xi informed the Dutch King of China's economic situation and the different reforms that the Chinese government is implementing to keep China to the path of development.
President Xi also met with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and reached an agreement to establish a comprehensive partnership of cooperation.
The Chinese president proposed that both countries maintain high-level exchanges and deepen mutual respect and trust, as both value developing relationships.
China and the Netherlands, Xi said, should give premium to the fundamental role of water and agriculture conservation.
In turn, Prime Minister Rutte said China is an important trade and investment partner and stressed that the Dutch government is open to further expanding its ties with China.
China and the Netherlands have an existing bilateral agreement that focuses on trade and investment.
