Former singer of the band "The Black Eyed Peas" Will.iam, born as William James Adams Jr., said on Wednesday that he is about to introduce his voice-controlled wristband smartphone.

He already talked about the device back in April as he appeared at the "Alan Carr: Chatty Man" show. He noted that the device had a 1-inch-wide wristband and people can make calls, play music and videos as well as post to social networking sites.

His product is not far from the smart watches developed by Apple, Samsung and other leading brands but he was still proud to say that he started the company on his own and funded it with his own money.

He added that it was voice-controlled so you don't have to scan through your contacts; you just have to say the name of whoever you want to call or recite the phone number. This then overcomes the challenge of having an onscreen keyboard in such small devices, although the gadget still has the onscreen keyboard in case users prefer that.

Another feature is that it has a Bluetooth earpiece that can be activated even if the background is too noisy for voice activation. As for the screen, witnesses say that it's vertical when facing out and that it can become horizontal if needed.
