"Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice was able to pay US$200,000 in restitution after she was convicted for fraud this month. According to the U.S. Attorney Office, the said amount will be deducted from the US$414,888 the court ordered Giudice and her husband Joe to pay.

Teresa's lawyer stated that US$150,000 of the figure given was obtained from an advance from the reality star's contract, while the rest was a loan from a friend.
Her husband Joe has yet to pay his share.
Aside from the restitution, Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in jail, while her 42-year old husband was sentenced to 41 months. The star is expected to begin her prison term in January, while Joe will start his at after she gets out. He will also be more likely deported because he is not a US citizen.
Teresa shared that she was extremely shocked at the number of years her husband would be spending in jail.
After she was sentenced, 42-year old Teresa spoke with Us Magazine, saying, "I wish I could do everything differently. But then again, maybe not, because this is a life lesson that I need to learn and will learn, and will teach my children for the rest of my life, just as Judge Salas told me she expected me to do."
Joe will once again be appearing in court in Paterson, New Jersey to face charges of license fraud. He allegedly used his brother's marriage and birth certificates in 2010 in order to obtain a driver's license. If convicted, Joe could be facing up to an additional ten years in jail.
The couple share four daughters and, Teresa is optimistic that Joe's relationship with the girls will only grow stronger every day despite the fact that he could spend a very long time in prison.
