Felix Wong and Roger Kwok Supports HKTV Launch

Following the announcement that HKTV will be launching a mobile and online television service on TVB's anniversary on November 19, Hong Kong actors Felix Wong and Roger Kwok showed their support.

Wong has revealed that he has already received his invitation to the opening ceremony of HKTV which had been delayed with its launching last year due to decisions that authorities have to make for it. However, he also stated that he isn't sure when the launch date of the station will be just as the station refused to reveal it.

The actor commented that it is good to see competition in the entertainment market, saying the Hong Kong needs more TV station so viewers would have more options to choose from. Additionally, the actor wished TVB's rival station, ATV, more success in the future.

As for HKTV, Wong says that he has been looking forward to seeing the station's launch. He said, "The station failed to launch last year, and it was a heavy hit on all of us. I thought we would never see this day, but now HKTV has finally taken its first step."

He also wished the newly-opened station well and expressed his hope that HKTV will be able to produce more TV dramas in the future.

On the other hand, Roger Kwok has also expressed support to the upcoming launch of HKTV especially after it was revealed that his upcoming TVB drama, 'Come On, Cousin', will be facing tough competition with a drama that the station is also going to produce.

The 'Black Heart, White Seoul' star said that it is a good thing for people to have more options when watching TV and added that he will be supporting the launching of the new station.

"I will watch anything. We should not close off ourselves. Let there be free expression and I hope there will be more platforms for everyone to choose," says Kwok, adding that despite the competition, he has confidence in his upcoming drama.
