Benedict Cumberbatch of "Sherlock" fame recently hinted at experimenting with fellow classmates while he was attending an all-boys private school. The 38-year old actor made the said admission in "Out", a gay lifestyle magazine.

Cumberbatch attended boarding school at Brambletye School in West Sussex.

"While there was experimentation [at Brambletye], it had never occurred to me as "Oh, this is that," he shared, adding, "It was just boys and their penises, the same way with girls and vaginas and boobs. It wasn't out of desire."

Cumberbatch has recently had to deal with the topic of sexuality as the controversial topic is at the forefront of his upcoming flick, "The Imitation Game".

In the new film, Cumberbatch plays the role of mathematician Alan Turing who helped crack the Enigma code during World War II. Turing, however, met a tragic end as he committed suicide after he was convicted of "engaging in homosexual relations".

Following his death, he was subsequently pardoned by the Queen after a long campaign was pushed for his innocence.

The actor shared that he deems the pardon as an insult because nobody, whether average citizen or authority, has the right to say that he was forgiven since there was nothing to forgive in the first place.

"The only person who should be [doing the] forgiving is Turing, and he can't because we killed him. And it makes me really angry. It makes me very angry," Cumberbatch shared.

An advocate for equal rights, Cumberbatch had actually officiated the civil ceremony of his close friends Seth Cummings and Rob Rinder in Ibiza last year.

He also shared that he is saddened by the fact that despite how far the world has come, openly gay actors continue to face big hurdles in Hollywood. He added that he doesn't know how gay actors do to be able to deal with having to hide who they are.
