iPhone 6 Online Preorders Exceed 20 Million in 3 Days in China

iPhone 6

Over 20 million iPhone 6 have been pre-ordered on Mainland China since access to Apple's latest smartphone models became available on October 10, the Beijing News reported.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be in Mainland China on Oct. 17. Even though the price is so much higher than other brands' smart phones and not a few Chinese local tyrants have received a real phone through various channels, the iPhone new models still attract a large amount of Apple fans to pre-order.

Apart from Apple's online store and three Chinese telecom carriers' pre-ordering platforms, online retailers including Jingdong and Suning also allow customers to reserve the new phones.

Differing with the pre-order on carriers' platform on October 10, where users had to wait for shipping, users who reserve the phones online on October 14 are able to pick up at stores directly.

Many Apple retail stores sold off the pre-order products very fast. Starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, iPhone 6 Plus was no longer available in all retail stores around the country by 6:30 p.m. Only a few iPhone 6 were available in two stores in Shanghai and Nanjing.

The bigger model iPhone 6 Plus is more popular according to the number of reservations and sales. One hour after the online pre-order were started, a few iPhone 6 Plus were in stock. According to Jingdong's data, reservations on Jingdong had reached 9.51 million, with 4.83 million for the iPhone 6 Plus and with 4.68 million for the iPhone 6 by Tuesday.

Previously, insiders expected optimistically that iPhone new models' pre-order numbers reached 20 million in the platforms of China's three carriers and online shopping platforms.
