In a statement released by Lt. Richard Hoyda, of the Hammond Police, the man, 43, disclosed his victim's location after he was detained and interrogated in connection with the death in Hammond.
On Sunday, the Lake County coroner's office identified the Hammond victim as Afrika Hardy, 19, who had been strangled to death.
Additionally, the coroner's office revealed that family members have identified the second victim as Anith Jones, 35, a resident of Merriville, Indiana.
According to the Lake County coroner's office, autopsies on Jones and the two other victims, who remain unidentified, have not yet been completed and the causes of death have yet to be announced.
Jones was reported missing by the Merriville's Post-Tribune on October 8.
Meanwhile, Hardy's body was found at a Motel 6 by the Indiana police at 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Hoyda said in a statement that Hardy's friend reported her missing after she claimed that the deceased did not respond to her calls.
"We were sent there and found that person dead," Hoyda said.
According to the investigators, they obtained a search warrant for a home and vehicle in Gary. The police conducted the search late Saturday afternoon and were able to take the man into custody.
During the police interrogation, the man confessed to killing Hardy, and told the authorities where the bodies of three other possible homicide victims were located.
Authorities did not disclose how the suspect knew the women or if he confessed to killing the them.
Hoyda said the man will remain unidentified until charges have been officially filed. At present, the man is being detained at the Hammond City Jail.
