Internet giant Google has released its latest update for Android 5.0 Lollipop, its operating system for mobile devices, which will equip the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 out of the box.
Google unveiled its Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system for mobile devices at its I/O Developer Conference. Lollipop (previously known as Android L) sports the most significant changes to Android since the Ice Cream Sandwich was released at the end of 2011.

The new OS features a redesigned user interface, referred to as Material Design, along with upgrades to the notification menu and lock screen.
The update also offers improved performance and longer battery life.
While Google's Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 will first receive the operating system, the company announced the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 will be updated to Lollipop "in the coming weeks."
Since the latest Nexus devices are set to be released in early November, CNET suggests it will likely be the same time updates for the other Nexus models will roll out.
Along with its lineup of Nexus devices, Google said Google Play Edition devices will also receive the update in the coming weeks.
Because the company didn't specify which devices will get Android 5.0, people at CNET assume all of them will receive the update.
The list of Google Play Edition devices include the HTC One M8 and Moto G, while Google previously offered the HTC One M7, LG G Pad 8.3, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
Taiwan-based HTC previously announced it will issue updates for the HTC One M7 and the HTC One M8 worldwide "within 90 days of receiving final software from Google," which means the update could be seen sometime before February 2015.
Electronics manufacturer Motorola announced the Android 5.0 OS update will operate on a number of devices later in the year. It also said it plans to upgrade the first and second-generation Moto G and Moto X, along with the Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx.
Meanwhile, Samsung, LG and Sony haven't revealed their respective plans about the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
