"It is truly an honor and a thrill to be asked to host this year's Academy Awards," Harris continued.
"To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true."
Judging his hosting at the Emmy and Tony for how many times, Harris will definitely stand at par with the acts of Carson, Crystal and DeGeneres.
Harris was a Tony Awards regular, hosting Broadway's highest award four times.
The actor, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Program, also hosted TV's highest honors twice.
After hosting the Oscars, Harris only needs to host the Grammys to highlight himself as an EGOT host!
The actor just emerged victorious after the four-month run of the Broadway stage play "Hedwig" and the "Angry Inch", which earned him the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
And from his musical skills and impressive emceeing background, audience can expect a lively opening for the Oscars.
And going back to the actor's bucket list, he has already made some serious progress, including having children with the birth of a twins by a surrogate mother in 2010, and getting married when he tied the knot with David Burtka last month.
