Jay Leno will be returning to nightly television in 2015 with a primetime CNBC show tentatively given the title "Jay Leno's Garage". The said show will be based on his Emmy-winning web series and will revolve around "all things automotive".

"Jay Leno's Garage: The Ultimate Car Week'' was a one-hour special the host did for CNBC in August. The said gig was Leno's first return to hosting since he exited from "The Tonight Show" earlier this year.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, although the specific debut date is yet to be determined.

The show, which will include anything that has to do with collecting and investing in cars, is the perfect fit for the car-loving, car-collecting 64-year old Leno.

According to the former "The Tonight Show" host, ''This show will be about anything that rolls, explodes and makes noise. We hope to highlight the passion and the stories behind the men and women who made the automobile the greatest invention of the 20th century.''

CNBC President Mark Hoffman shared that they believe Leno's new show and the host-comedian's star power will fit perfectly with the primetime slot. Hoffman stated that Leno will be continuing his impressive career with the NBC family, more specifically with CNBC.

Leno, who managed to ruffle a few feathers holding on to his late night show, recently opened up to "Access Hollywood" as to why he was chosen to replace Johnny Carson on the show over comedian Joan Rivers who oftentimes took over as guest host.

According to Leno, Carson didn't want to speak to Rivers again after he found out that she left "The Tonight Show" to star on her own late night talk show on Fox-TV.

Leno, who never asked Rivers to be a guest on the show, admitted that he didn't extend her an invitation "out of respect for Johnny," adding, "I don't think he wanted to see her on the show and that's why we didn't do it."
