FBI On the Hunt for Student Who Made Death Threats Against Feminist Speaker

Feminist writer Anita Sarkeesian was supposed to give a talk at Utah State University (USU) on Wednesday but cancelled at the last minute due to death threats e-mailed to her by an unidentified culprit, who is now being hunted down by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Sarkeesian, best known for her takes on how women are being portrayed in most video games, had to cancel her 11:30 A.M. appointment at the USU Taggart Student Center Auditorium due to the threats and also because state law allows firearms to be permitted in the area.

The culprit claimed to have a semi-automatic rifle, multiple pistols, and a couple of pipe bombs and ensured that the feminist writer would "die screaming like the craven little whore that she is."
The threat added that other feminists on campus will also be targeted and that perpetrator will make sure all of them die, further claiming that feminists ruined his/her life.
FBI cyber-crime experts as well as the Statewide Information & Analysis Center (SIAC) have worked together and are taking the death threats seriously. The email was reportedly from an anonymous USU student.
Although USU spokesman Tim Vitale assured her safety was their top priority and that the campus officers were very prepared to deal with any incidents, Sarkeesian still feared for her life.
Sarkeesian took it to Twitter on Tuesday night to express her disappointment over the refusal of USU to install metal detectors at the venue and that the school as well as the officials did not take any effort to make sure that her life was not in danger.
A law passed in 2004 prohibits universities in Utah from endorsing policies regarding the restriction of legally-possessed firearms.
This is not the first time that Sarkeesian has received death threats as she was also endangered via a bomb threat on Saturday when she spoke at the Geek Girl Con in Seattle.
